IC Day 32 Update

It was almost a more hectic day. Nathan was up last night at about 1am complaining he was hot - oh no! He had a fever but it was only 37.8 and we were able to give him Tylenol and his fever went down. He spent the rest of the night restlessly sleeping in our bed. In the morning his fever was back again around 37.6 and again we gave him Tylenol and that brought it back down. He has been like that most of the day and it did affect his temperament a little bit. I don't know if it was the fever fever or cabin fever but we had a few more issues today than we've had in the past days. He was generally in good spirits but got into a few down moods that we haven't seen recently. Regardless, as long as his fever does not go over 38.5 we get to stay at home. Dr Ali said that if his fever was in the 37 range we could give him Tylenol so that is what we have been doing. At suppertime he was a little out of sorts again and it took him a little while to compose himself.

I think he finds it frustrating because food doesn't taste the same to him. He will beg for something to eat, and then he takes one bite and it doesn't taste like normal. Today it was chicken noodle soup and spaghetti that did not taste like they were supposed to and that really frustrates him as those are two of his favourite foods. Tonight we even tried one of his favourite snacks - salt and vinegar chips (there is a flavour that isn't subtle) and they didn't taste right either. We certainly hope this is not a symptom of something else.

Also, it's been awhile since we've said it but we really wanted to make sure everyone knows how grateful we are for the support shown to Nathan and the rest of our family. It really gives us strength, and it is more than appreciated, it is vital. Thank you everyone for your continued prayers, thoughts and actions.
